We are thrilled to invite you to When Panda Meets Armadillo: Innovation, Culture & Technology Forum of Chengdu & Austin at Council Chamber of Austin City Hall (301 W 2nd St, 78701) on Friday, March 8th, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
As the fastest growing city in China, Chengdu is renowned for its openness, creativity, and liveliness. Chengdu is not only the hometown of pandas and spicy cuisines, but also the new hub of international trade, and the robust cradle of cultural and technological innovation. During SXSW 2019, Chengdu is going to send its first official large delegation to Austin, wishing to enhance the bond with the City of Austin.
The delegation is led by officials from Chengdu Municipal People’s Government and the delegates are key players from a variety of industries. To name a few, we are excited to have representatives from Southwest Jiaotong University, Codoon Smart Sport, technology companies specializing in drones and robotics, Chengdu Media Group, Chengdu News International Travel Agency, Chengdu International Culture and Art Center, XLY Museum of Modern Art, and many many more.
This year, the forum is jointly hosted by Chengdu Municipal People’s Government and China Gathering at SXSW. It will be a great opportunity to make critical connections with China’s most dynamic city, and expand your business realm. On the Forum, Mayors from both Chengdu & Austin will give a speech, and a panel with panelists from both cities will address problems and solutions to work in different cultures. Please RSVP at your earliest convenience because the places are filled up pretty quickly.
If you can stay a little longer, right after the Forum, we are going to have the China Gathering VIP Opening Reception (Chengdu Night) from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. All the attendees of the Forum will stay and enjoy the night. At the reception, we will serve delicious Texan food and authentic Sichuan cuisine, presented by chefs from Chengdu. Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremonies will be performed and important speeches will be given by leaders from both countries. As a tradition, we are honored to have delegates from Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Houston, Office of the Texas Governor, City of Austin. We are also honored to have Alibaba Group representatives, venture capitalists and KOLs of China tech community from InnoMap, Tencent Music Entertainment Group representatives, and Chinese musicians. Cocktails and Hors D’oeuvres will be provided.
