See You at SXSW 2021

Dear friends,

The first few months of 2020 have been rough. After long and thorough discussion with my colleagues, we have decided to suspend the program of China Gathering @ SXSW 2020. This means that we have decided to cancel our planned Conference sessions, Mayor Summit, Trade Show Exhibition, Opening Reception, Music Showcase, Visiting Team, and the first-year China House. This has been a very difficult decision to make. I wish to express my sincere gratefulness to those who have worked diligently for this meaningful project.

SXSW 2020 takes place March 13-22 in Austin. As always, SXSW is an opening and understanding platform. The event welcomes people of all ethnic groups in China, to our compatriots in Hong Kong and Macao, compatriots in Taiwan, as well as overseas Chinese nationals. In addition, China Gathering will continue to facilitate Chinese compatriots (individuals, teams, and companies) who will attend SXSW 2020.

Although we need to take a pause this year, my colleagues, SXSW and I will always stay optimistic - we will have even more time to prepare for a very strong comeback in March 2021.

I sincerely believe that staying together and staying strong, we can find a way to stop the disease. Finger crossed for a brighter and healthier future - and we look forward to being even more involved in next year’s SXSW!

China Gathering@SXSW 2020活动取消公告

亲爱的朋友们，

2020年伊始，我们经历了一个艰难的开端。衡量许久之后，我们决定 China Gathering @ SXSW 2020年暂时停办一年。原有的研讨会、市长会议、展览会、开幕式、音乐演出以及中国馆、游学团等活动全部取消。借此机会，我要向2019为之努力工作和付出的合作伙伴们、师长们、朋友们、同学们表示由衷的感谢。

SXSW 2020年3月将在奥斯汀市如期举行，并且一如既往地欢迎所有的中国各族人民、港澳同胞、台湾同胞、海外侨胞们积极参与，China Gathering也一如既往地对所有需要帮助的华人同胞们、公司、团体、个人提供帮助。

2020年开年是艰难的，但是SXSW以及我和我的合作伙伴们都未曾灰心沮丧过，因为我们有了更充分的时间来筹划准备2021年，把更多的精力投入到2021年的建设当中去。

团结一致，战胜疫情，未来可期。让我们明年再会！
